T-Mobile Galaxy S II Version Called Samsung Hercules Leaked Release Date, Photos, And Specs

Samsung is now the world’s second smartphone vendor after selling about 17 million such devices during the past quarter, being overcome only by Apple who sold 23 million iPhone units in Q2 2011. According to the South Korean-based company, more than 5 million Samsung Galaxy S II units have been sold worldwide since the smartphone’s launch and we’ve got to consider that the device is not yet available in the US and that the sales on the Chinese market weren’t taken into consideration as the SGS2 was released recently in world’s third biggest country.
We can tell you for sure that the device will become available in the US very soon as we’ve always been told that the Samsung Galaxy S II is scheduled for a late summer release date, and recently rumors have intensified. Today a bunch of SGS2 pics have been leaked and they suggest that the smartphone will be released as Samsung Hercules courtesy of T-Mobile.
Earlier this year, the T-Mobile roadmap for 2011 suggested that a 4.5-inch Samsung smartphone will become available at the carrier and this might be it. The back cover of the Samsung Hercules confirms that this is a Galaxy S II device as there’s a giant “Galaxy S II” logo that cannot be missed.
The US version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is a little bit different from its European counterpart as the sides aren’t squared anymore, they’re rounded. There are a few design changes including a redesigned back cover that we believe it looks slightly better and which gives the Galaxy S2 a sturdier feel.
T-Mobile is rolling out at 42Mbps HSPA+ network and that Samsung Galaxy S II would be the perfect device to introduce these new speeds. The roadmap leaked this Spring suggested that the smartphone would actually support the network, but you can never tell what would happen before the Samsung Hercules release date which falls on September 26th. Not exactly late summer, but we have a feeling that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will put this phone up for sale a whole lot sooner.
The Samsung Hercules will be powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen at 800 x 480 resolution, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, new TouchWiz UI version, 1GB RAM, built-in 16GB flash memory, NFC support (yeah, NFC baby!), 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and full HD video capture, and a front-facing camera.
We are a little surprised to hear that a Galaxy S2 phone will run on a Qualcomm processor. Samsung said that if they won’t be able to make enough Exynos CPUs, then the SGS2 will be powered by a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. Most likely the source made a little mistake though we should wait until the device’s “About Phone” details will be posted on the web.
For now we know that the model number of the Her

The rumored price for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II is $300, but we believe that the maximum amount will be $250 as the carrier must compete against the new iPhone 5 so it needs to have a lower price tag than Apple’s upcoming smartphone.
